Later in the war, the Germans started building U- boat is sections at inland factories, and only did the final assembly in the more vulnerable dockyards. This was a big model, slightly over four feet long when completed. The other special order was Revell’s new 1:72 scale model of a Gato class fleet submarine. There was a fashion for “visible” models at the time, so besides the engine, I also built a Visible P- 51 Mustang, a Visible Man, a Visible Woman, and a Visible Head. If I ever finish it I’ll mount it on an actual plank from the WWII Flasher. The thing that sort of stalled the project was the torpedo doors, there were I think three different styles of doors. The deck guns and several other details were different on the Flasher as with the other boats in the class. The PE accurately depicts individual planking, but it’s no drop in set for sure. I have the Revell kit with the Big Ed PE set. I was unaware of the wood planking option. I’m sure looking forward to seeing more progress. ![]() ![]() ![]() The abomination acquires 1 stress point whenever the following occurs: The abomination's self-loathing enables him to not value his life, enabling him to protect his allies even when the blows would normally fell ordinary men. But at the time, it was dismissed as nothing more than a freak occurrence. There was some foreshadowing of what was to come when former heavyweight champion Greg Page knocked down Tyson during a sparring session. And when my camp came in, it was just us. We would come in the gym after Mike, and chairs could be turned over and everything as if somebody had a big to-do. Tyson's dominance in those days became problematic for his promoter, Don King, who had increasing difficulty persuading the casinos in America to dole out millions of dollars in site fees for bouts that sometimes didn't last as long as the national anthem. Tubbs was drilled in two short rounds at the same venue this bout would be held. The great irony is that back in 1990, as he landed in Japan, he was an anonymous figure, imported to play another defenseless victim to the rampaging Tyson, much in the way Tony Tubbs was in March of 1988.
